Meet Anthony

I’ve been the director of Red Kite Wealth Management since April 2018.

Before Red Kite, I spent two years as a paraplanner to learn the ways of the industry. After qualifying, I then worked as both an independent and restricted financial adviser for small firms and networks.

Prior to my career in financial advice, I worked in residential and commercial property for approximately six years.

Setting up Red Kite has been the proudest moment of my career because it allows me to focus solely on what I believe is best for my clients.

The thing I love most about my job is getting “under the hood” of investments and finding out how they work and what will be suitable for my clients. I also love the “lightbulb” moment when people understand what’s being recommended and why.

The types of people I most enjoy working with are those who recognise that they need help, and are prepared to take a long-term view rather than just chasing the next fad. I love meeting clients face to face and finding out about their lives.

In the wild

I’m interested in military aircraft and cars, and also enjoy golf. But my life’s passion is the great outdoors.

I love the countryside and going on walks, but the thing that interests me most is wildlife. I’m currently planning my fifth trip to Africa, either Zambia or Tanzania. And I’m already researching my sixth trip, which will be to either Namibia or Malawi.

Shining a spotlight

On an ideal weekend, you can find me:

Walking in the countryside around South Oxfordshire.

My favourite holiday destination is:

Africa – anywhere on safari.

My favourite song to play in the car is:

Anything you can turn up loud!

If I could be any fictional character, I would be:

Iron Man – would love to have all the toys.

If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:

Spotting wildlife at distance.

When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:

Chocolate brownie or fudge cake.

The three qualities that draw me to new people are:

Being open-minded, honest, and able to look past little annoyances and see the bigger picture.

My pet peeve is:

When people jump to conclusions without all the facts.

The best gift I’ve ever received is:

A foot-tall chocolate fudge cake that my niece baked for me for my 40th birthday.

The three people at my dream dinner party would be:

David Attenborough and George Lucas (although I’ve met him already). That would do.

The three small things that make my day better are:

Getting some fresh air and a nice view, being able to tick off a task that has been dragging on, and some good music.

Three things I haven’t done so far include:

Enough travelling, learnt to fly, and bought land and planted a woodland.
